Josef Koudelka was born in 1938 in the Czechia Republic. Valuable collections of his work are housed in the Museum of Modern Art and the International Center for Photography in New York, the Hayward Gallery in London, and many other prestigious museums and galleries around the world. He is one of the great representatives of the humanist and poetic tradition that dominated European photography in the second half of the twentieth century.
