Monica Barengo was born in 1990 in Turin, Italy. After graduating from high school, she received a scholarship to participate in a three-year illustration course at the IED in Turin. She meets Davide Cal while presenting her dissertation and publishes her first book, Polline, published by Pado. Monica now works as an illustrator for picture books, magazines and comics, and works mainly in Italy, France and Taiwan. Selected at the Bologna Exhibition of Illustrators in 2012, Received the Future Predictions Award (organized by the Italian Illustrators Association) in 2013, selected in the final 50 nominees for the Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Competition in Shanghai in 2018 and 2019 One of the honors earned by Barengo. In addition to Italy, her books have been published in France, Spain, China, South Korea, Germany and Taiwan.
